i have been using this mp3 player with Rockbox for a year almost and love it. I take it everywhere but somehow I deleted some system files. It now works on the computer as a drive but on battery it flashes a message saying system files missing please run the recovery tool and then shuts down. There is no recovery tool that I can find on the unit and when I research this online I find that the only known player to have this tool is the H10 5 Gig version. When I try a search for the files I find links to the IRiver site but it seems to be either not accessible or the page really is blank as jaws says. Any advice please because I do not want to have to get a new player.

First, try re-installing rockbox
Overwrite every single system file through UMS mode from the latest rockbox system files.
Then reset and see if that worked. If not, I might have another solution.

I just recently updated my rockbox and verified that the above method works.

If you need a step by step, follow this and it will work.
A. Place your h10 in to UMS mode, I won't explain how to do that, look it up if you don't already know how
B. Open the h10, now in UMS/hd mode
1. delete your .rockbox folder
2. download the new .rockbox 3.3 or if you have an older one, you can use that too.
3. unzip and copy over the new .rockbox folder to your h10
4. download the english.voice file and place it in to your .rockbox/lang folder
5. reset your IRiver(very important)
Enjoy
